The Audiology Foundation of America (AFA) has announced new recipients of its Practitioner Scholarships. Each recipient, chosen by a selection committee, won $1,000 to support distance AuD education. Scholarship funding was provided through donations to the AFA, which plans to continue to support practitioners with additional scholarship opportunities throughout 2007.

The five scholarship winners are the following:

Jennifer Gutzwiller: An educational audiologist since 1998 currently employed in Kearney, NE. She will earn her AuD from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, School of Audiology (PCO).

Joni Johnson: Employed by Columbia Regional Program in Portland, Ore, and an audiologist more than 20 years. She will earn her AuD from A.T. Still University/Arizona School of Health Sciences (ASHS).

Bridget Kane: Audiologist since 1981 who currently owns Professional Audiology and Hearing Aid Services in Woodridge, IL, and is also employed as head audiologist in an otologist’s office in Chicago, Ill. She is pursuing her AuD from ASHS.

Kristin Lillie: Employed in an educational setting in Salem, Ore, and an audiologist since 2003. She will earn her AuD from PCO.

Kellen Rogan: Audiologist since 1999 currently employed in an ENT office in Chicago, Ill. She is pursuing her AuD from ASHS.
