Los Angeles — With the aid of Pioneer Electronics’ "Listening Through The Body" technology, 20 deaf and hard-of-hearing patrons will experience an Asia America Symphony Orchestra concert on June 7 in Los Angeles under the direction of David Benoit, featuring special guest  world-renowned jazz saxophonist Sadao Watanabe.

Combining an innovative vibrating seat with an optional magnetic loop, headphones and/or hearing aid, the unique system enables the deaf and hard-of-hearing audience members to experience musical performances. This event marks the first time Pioneer’s system, on loan from Japan, will be used in the United States.

Sponsored by Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc, the concert is scheduled to take place at the Aratani Japan America Theatre in the Little Tokyo District of downtown Los Angeles, and will feature Beethoven’s Symphony  No. 6 in F, Opus 68 "Pastorale," and the world premiere performance of David Benoit’s "Dolores Del Carmen" for Spanish guitar & orchestra,  with a special guest appearance by acclaimed guitarist Sir Angel Romero.
