New York-based Advanced Style, a high-fashion blog and media brand aimed at glamorous seniors, and Audicus, an online hearing aid company, have partnered to design a collection of limited-edition fashionable hearing aids in vivid patterns. According to an announcement from Audicus, this collaboration furthers its mission to destigmatize hearing aids, while also furthering Advanced Style’s mission to showcase a creative and vital image of aging.

The Advanced Style x Audicus collection includes leopard, pink glitter, silver hologram, and black-and-white polka dot hearing aids. With these designs, the collaborators report, they aim to transform traditional hearing aids into fashionable accessories.

“We’re excited for this collaboration with Advanced Style, as it highlights our commitment to innovation when it comes to hearing aids,” said Patrick Freuler, founder and CEO of Audicus. “We hope to appeal to sophisticated and style-conscious people who would like to hear better.”

According to Audicus, stylish seniors have recently entered the spotlight, with models over age 60 being featured in fashion campaigns for big-name designer brands such as Celine, Saint Laurent, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, and Kate Spade. The movement may be attributed in part to Ari Seth Cohen, founder of Advanced Style, says Audicus. Through his camera lens, Cohen captures the street fashion of glamorous seniors in stylish urban locales, and his Advanced Style book, blog and documentary showcase the high-fashion senior set.

“We’re trying to cut down the stigmas that surround hearing aids,” said Cohen. “Our goal is to encourage people with hearing loss to be proud to wear a hearing aid and have a little fun with it.”

Audicus hearing aids are manufactured in Germany and offered online. More about the collaboration on this line of high-fashion hearing aids may be found on the Audicus website.
