  Fitting modern hearing aids requires an understanding of how both software-driven and mechanical plumbing related adjustments influence the acoustical response of the hearing aid. Even with the numerous electronic means in which acoustic parameters can be adjusted, a general understanding of mechanical changes to earmolds is important for improving the performance—particularly in thin tube/wire mini-BTE applications.
