Stable Gain Limits of Instant-fit Hearing Aid Couplings

  Feedback is still the major limiting factor for mini-BTE instant-fit devices. This study proposes a simple objective method to measure the frequency-specific maximum stable insertion gain capabilities of hearing aid coupling systems.
A Comparison of Performance in Children with Nonlinear Frequency Compression Systems

  As found in a previous study, children with lower speech recognition/detection scores using aids with nonlinear frequency compression (NFC) benefited most when the NFC was available. NFC benefit was significantly correlated with higher levels of hearing loss, and some children show the additional effect of continued improvement over time, due to maturation, acclimatization effects, or both.
New Support for Hearing Aid Outcome Measures: The Computerized SAC and SOAC

  Designed to identify people with hearing loss and to be used as outcome assessment tools, the Self-Assessment of Communication (SAC) and the Significant Other Assessment of Communication (SOAC) now have computerized versions.
