Symphonix
Symphonix® Devices Inc, announces the appointment of Carlos Baez as vice-president of research and development. Prior to joining the company, Baez served as vice president of engineering at a hearing technology manufacturing and distribution firm based in Fremont, CA, and was one of the founders of a Redwood City, CA, based hearing healthcare and communications company. Baez holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Columbia Univ. and an MS in the same subject from the Univ. of California, Berkeley.

Hearing Instrument Manufacturers’ Software Association (HIMSA)
HIMSA has added Brad Ingrao, a practicing audiologist and adjunct lecturer in audiology at Northeastern Univ., to the organization. In his audiological work, Ingrao has served various special populations, including pediatrics, and has developed special interests in patient education, earmold technology and computer applications for audiology. He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in audiology from the State Univ. of New York at New Paltz.

Jesse Kauffman has joined The Hearing Review as associate editor. Kauffman received his BA in history from UCLA and studied at the graduate level at Stanford University before joining the magazine’s staff. Based at Medical World Communications’ Los Angeles office, he will also serve as editor of Hearing Products Report and Respiratory Therapy Products magazines.
