BTE Instruments
Siemens Hearing Instruments, Piscataway, NJ, has added two new BTE instruments to its TRIANO product line: the TRIANO 3 P and TRIANO SL. The TRIANO 3 P features the TriMic three-microphone directional technology for a high level of directional performance with an AI-DI over 6 dB. TRIANO 3P also features a peak gain of 70 dB and a maximum power output of 131 dB. The TRIANO SL BTE has maximum power output of 115 dB and 45 dB peak gain, making it optimal for open-ear fittings for first-time hearing instrument users, and for patients with mild to moderate hearing loss.

Digital Product Line
Beltone Electronics, Chicago, has added Corus instruments to its line of digital products. Developed to help eliminate common fitting problems, such as feedback, occlusion, and inaudible or uncomfortable sounds, Corus offers: automatic feedback cancellation (combined with Gain Explorer, Corus achieves up to an additional 10 dB of insertion gain without feedback); the Corus Rapid compression system, which yields low distortion levels and internal noise, while providing enhanced resolution for soft and mid-level signals; a step venting system to combat occlusion; speech pattern detection, which distinguishes between speech and nonspeech signals; a silencer system that automatically reduces both background and microphone noise in quiet and noisy environments; three channels/six handles, and up to four programmable memories. Sound-Enhanced Hearing System
Phonak Hearing Systems, Warrenville, Ill, introduces its Valeo hearing systems featuring 3x3 SoundSelect, a feature that offers three signal processing strategies, three performance enhancers, and three fitting levels. The three signal processing strategies are digital WDRC for natural sound quality and comfort, digital super compression for optimized speech clarity in noise, and digital limiting for preserved loudness. The three performance enhancers include a digital feedback canceler that ensures no feedback, AudioZoom and digital Noise Canceler, and a choice of up to three programs. The three fitting levels include a easy manager level, a standard level for automatic fine-tuning, and detailed level with manual fine-tuning and various slider configurations.
