Cameron Hay Unitron Hearing, Plymouth, Minn, announced that Cameron Hay has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Unitron Hearing Worldwide. Hay replaces Mike Jones, who will continue to provide guidance and expertise during a trasitional period of approximately 3 months. Since joining Unitron Hearing in 2002, Hay played a key role in developing Unitrons operating and product roadmap strategies, and establishing Unitron Hearing Suzhou in 2003, an important foundation for Unitron Hearing in Asia. I am delighted that Cameron will succeed me in leading Unitron Hearing into its next strategic phaseone that emphasizes aggressive global sales growth, said Jones. Unitron Hearing has a strong brand position and Hay has the experience and expertise to implement global growth strategies that will extend the companys worldwide footprint into a leadership position. The National Association of Future Doctors of Audiology Tence has been part of the national NAFDA's board since May of 2004 as the Web site director. She helped implement new Web site features including a chat room, forum, video and articles library, gallery of pictures, updated events, and online publications. Lim is a third-year AuD student at the Northeast Ohio AuD Consortium in Ohio. She previously served as the media director of NAFDA. Her objectives as vice president include initiating and strengthening different benefits for membership, such as offering various mentorship programs, and offering guidance to new and established NAFDA chapters. Constantine is a second-year student at North Carolina University, Chapel Hill, NC, and previously served as NAFDAs chapter representative and director for educational and scientific affairs on the national board. Bailey is a third-year AuD student at the University of North Texas. She has served on the NAFDA board for two terms, first as a member of the special affairs committee then as financial affairs director. As treasurer, Bailey will work to increase NAFDAs financial stability and independence while enhancing member benefits through responsible budgeting and aggressive fundraising.
Dolores E. Battle Dolores E. Battle, PhD, CCC/SLP, professor of speech-language pathology and senior advisor to the president for equity and campus diversity at Buffalo State College, Buffalo, NY, began her duty as president of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) on January 1, 2005. Battle is a speech-language pathologist and has been a member of ASHA for 31 years. During her tenure, Battle seeks to strengthen ASHAs commitment to advocating for those with speech, language, and hearing disorders, and improve services to ASHA members. One priority is to increase educational opportunities by providing the latest information, research, and technology that will benefit both the consumer and the professional. Battle has served in a number of roles as an ASHA volunteer leader, serving on ASHAs Legislative Council, Financial Planning Board, Education Standards Board, the Council on Professional Standards, and several committees and task forces. She has also been named an ASHA Fellow, one of the highest honors bestowed by the Association. Battle also works with the New York State Network of the American Council on Education Office of Women in Higher Education and serves on several community boards that aim to improve life for people with social and health care needs. She mentors undergraduate speech-language pathology students and is currently president of the International Association of Logopedics and Phoniatrics. Battle holds a bachelors degree from the University of Massachusetts, a masters in education from Buffalo State College, and a PhD from SUNY, Buffalo. Sonic Innovations Inc Callahan replaces Anthony B. Evnin, PD, who resigned from the Sonic Innovations board after 9 years of service. Evnin is managing general partner of Venrock Associates, an early stage investor in Sonic Innovations. Callahan, who also served as an officer in the US Marine Corps, has a degree in communication arts from Fordham University and a masters in business administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
