Hearing Aid Test System Frye Electronics, Tigard, Ore, has announced the availability of version 1.51 of the FONIX 7000 Hearing Aid Test System. This new software version includes the NAL-NL1 non-linear real-ear targets and the new Visible Speech screen. The NAL-NL1 targets are a complete implementation of the fitting formula that includes all available NAL-NL1 settings. Also included is a bug fix that adds target data points that are reportedly not known to be available on competing equipment. The new Visible Speech screen allows the clinician to perform a real-ear measurement using a live speech signal. The real-time response is measured as an FFT in 100 Hz intervals from 200-8000 Hz. This provides resolution of the response at high frequencies critical to the understanding of speech. The new software is provided free of charge to FONIX 7000 users. (800) 547-8209; www.frye.com
