In May 2009, Siemens commissioned a study to explore the perceptions about hearing loss among Boomers and older Americans contrasted with the perceptions of children of parents from this same age group. A total of 250 Americans ages 50-75 who were married and living with their spouses were surveyed, along with 250 working Americans who have parents in this age group. The results indicate that, although 72% of the Boomer/Older American (Parent) Group believe their hearing is average or better, 70% of the younger (Children) group say that their family members have suggested their fathers have a hearing test and 64% have suggested the same for their mother. However, only 32% of the Boomer/Older Americans (Parent) report that a family member has suggested a hearing test.

This and many more interesting results are covered by Dr Powers in this week's podcast and presentation.
