Hearing implant manufacturer MED-EL Corporation USA announced that it has made its extended 5-year warranty on external equipment a permanent feature for all new cochlear implants. MED-EL states that this warranty is currently the longest available in the cochlear implant industry.
The products covered under the warranty include all OPUS audio processors, coils, battery packs, cables, DaCapo PowerPacks, and Fine Tuner™ remote controls.
“Making the extended warranty a permanent feature is a natural extension of our commitment to patients well beyond their initial activation,” said Richard Collette, president and CEO, MED-EL Corporation USA. “While all new patients can benefit from this news, it’s particularly reassuring for parents of children with a MED-EL Cochlear Implant System. Kids can get out there and be kids without worrying about damaging their external equipment.”
MED-EL will continue to offer 10 years of manufacturer's warranty coverage on all cochlear implants, including its MED-EL CONCERT, SONATA, and PULSAR. The offer is valid only for patients implanted in the United States on or after November 1, 2011. For details, contact MED-EL at [email protected]
