Audiology Awareness Campaign
The Audiology Awareness Campaign board of directors is pleased to announce that Richard Carmen, AuD, was recently elected to serve as the first board member at large on the Audiology Awareness Campaign board of Directors. Carmen is founder and publisher of Auricle Ink Publishers. He is also founder and director of clinical services at Northern Arizona Speech and Hearing Center. He is editor of the popular book, The Consumer Handbook on Hearing Loss and Hearing Aids: A Bridge to Hearing. Carmen has also written and edited many books and articles relating to hearing loss, hearing aids, tinnitus, aural rehabilitation, counseling, and noise exposure. He is board advisor to Hearing Health Magazine, and has served as a peer review board member to The Hearing Review.

GN ReSound
GN ReSound announces the addition of Laurel Christensen, PhD, as director of North American Research Audiology. She will be responsible for managing the activities of the staff in an effort to strengthen current research activities for both the Beltone and ReSound hearing instrument brands. She most recently served as a research audiologist and director of sales and marketing at Etymotic Research, Elk Grove Village, Ill. She has also served as associate professor in the Department of Communication Disorders at Louisiana State University Medical Center, and was an adjunct associate professor at Kresge Hearing Research Laboratory.

GN ReSound Group North America, Chicago, also announces several new editions to the company’s sales team: Christine Labenski has joined GN ReSound as a regional sales manager for the Metro New York and New Jersey area. She is responsible for helping customers grow their business, traveling throughout the assigned territory to call on regular and perspective accounts, perform product demonstrations, coordinate customer training, and attend trade shows; Rennae Pickert is an outside sales representative, responsible for the Houston area. She is responsible for helping customers grow their business, traveling throughout the assigned territory to call on regular and perspective accounts, perform product demonstrations, coordinate customer training, and attend trade shows; Chris Smith has joined GN ReSound as a regional sales manager. He will cover Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma; Greg Stafford has joined GN ReSound as a regional sales manager. He will cover Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas; Kimberly Pearson now serves as a regional sales manager for the Los Angeles area. Pearson’s responsibilities include generating customer leads, traveling throughout the assigned territory to call on regular and perspective accounts, performing product demonstrations, coordinating customer training, and attending trade shows.

CathyCarlson(Unitron).jpg (7521 bytes)Unitron Hearing, Plymouth, Minn, has announced two new hires. Cathy Carlson has been named product manager for Duracell batteries. She had been with the company as an inside sales representative before switching to the product management role. She will be responsible for sales and marketing for Duracell batteries in the United States.

KristieAlbers(Unitron).jpg (7754 bytes)Kristi Albers, MA, has joined the professional services department. Her primary tasks will include technical support and training. Albers received her master’s in audiology from the University of Minnesota and worked as a clinical audiologist prior to joining Unitron Hearing.
