Any well-planned adventure starts with the right equipment. For children and teens ready to take full advantage of new Safari state-of-the-art advanced technology hearing solutions from Oticon Pediatrics, Somerset, NJ, there are now a series of child-friendly, new-age Care Kits to equip them as they encounter the everyday adventures of childhood with their new hearing instruments.

The age-appropriate kits are color-coded by age and contain a range of practical and fun accessories to meet the needs of youngsters, and their parents, from infancy through the high school years.

“We wanted the new Care Kits to reflect the Safari’s ‘living eveyday adventure’ theme,” says Maureen Doty Tomasula, AuD, marketing manager. “That meant some very practical and desirable additions—like the crushproof, waterproof Otterbox—as well as fun stickers, an LED key ring, and the new Plugged In comic book.”

The eco-friendly kits will have special appeal to environmentally minded young people and their parents—they are made from 100% recycled materials (80% recycled cotton and 20% recycled soda bottles).

Care Kits are available for three age groups: infancy to 4 years (apple green), school age children, 5 to 10 years (royal blue), and middle/high schoolers, 11 to 18 years (expresso). Each kit also contains age-approriate brochures, Safari-themed Ear Gear, listening tubes, and an OtiCare Clean and Dry Kit.

The new kits are an added value with every Safari order and a complement to the family of hearing instruments exclusively for children with hearing loss from infancy through the teen years.

The Safari family offers extended bandwidth to support language development, wireless binaural processing to improve spatial awareness and localization capabilities, and wireless connectivity for easy access to phones, TVs, and other communication and entertainment devices. The line features a built-in intelligent LED indicator that lets parents, teachers, and other caregivers know with certainty that the hearing instrument is functioning properly.
