America Hears, Bristol, Pa, has contracted with William Schirmer, MAP, BC-HIS, to serve as branch manager for its newest retail outlet in Los Angeles. Schirmer joins America Hears following a long career in the hearing aid industry. At the new store, he will be involved in taking ear impressions, administering hearing tests, selling and repairing hearing aids, and offering support to customers of the America Hears product line.

“I am pleased to be working with America Hears, furthering the company’s mission of helping consumers to take charge of their own hearing and of providing high-quality hearing aids at an affordable price,” Schirmer says. “I look forward to meeting customers face to face so that I can help them understand their hearing loss and assist them in choosing just the right hearing aid for their needs.”

Schirmer received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from National University, San Diego. He holds a master of auditory prosthetics credential from the Institute of Auditory Prosthetics in California. In addition, he has nearly completed his audioprosthologist designation from the International Hearing Society.

Prior to his work with America Hears, in more than 20 years of licensed hearing aid experience, Schirmer established and managed his own business, Hearing Home Care, through which he provided consultation, hearing testing, and sales of hearing aids, He also served as the manager of the hearing aid department at Costco in Burbank, Calif, for 5 years.
