At the recent AudiologyNOW! conference in San Diego, Sonic Innovations Inc, Salt Lake City, unveiled Endura, its new 12-channel super power behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aid, which it says provides exceptional amplification for those suffering from severe-to-profound hearing loss.

“With the addition of Endura to our family of products, we offer high quality, cutting-edge products for people with all levels of hearing loss," said Sam Westover, the company’s CEO. "Like all of our products, Endura features our patented Sonic Sound digital processing for incredibly natural sound and sophisticated directional systems to improve speech understanding in challenging situations.”

With a maximum output of 140 dB SPL, the device provides enough power to fit even the most profound hearing loss, according to the company. Features include integrated direct audio input; Bluetooth connectivity, when paired with the company’s sonicBLU accessory; adaptive and automatic directionality; digital noise reduction; an automatic, hands-free program; four manual programs; 11 predefined listening environments; data logging; and voice alerts.

“Endura continues our tradition of offering products designed for modern, active lifestyles,”
Westover said.

The compny’s other product lines include Touch, a small receiver-in-canal product, Velocity, premium to affordable hearing aids, and ion, open ear hearing aids. The Touch microRIC was recently named as the Best of Innovations Design and Engineering Awards winner at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show.
