On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the International Congress of Hearing Aid Acousticians in Nuremberg, Germany, representatives of the Hearing Without Borders Initiative visited the power one booth where they were presented with several powerful batteries by the manufacturer in support of their program. VARTA Microbattery has announced that its power one battery brand is now supporting this hearing healthcare program once again.

Hearing Without Borders is an initiative of the Jordanian Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, and its objective is to treat hearing loss by providing cochlear implants to those who need them. Every year, about 300 children are born in Jordan with hearing loss, causing them to suffer significant disadvantages in everyday life.

Together with Professor Annette Limberger and others, Hearing Without Borders works to give these people a better life. Dr Limberger is a professor in the faculty of ophthalmic optics and audiology at Aalen University, and established the contact between VARTA Microbattery GmbH, based in Ellwangen, Germany, and the Jordanian initiative.

VARTA Microbattery, a supplier of high-power battery products to customers in more than 100 countries worldwide, has now presented additional hearing aid batteries from the power one brand to Sakher Al Fayez, manager of the Hearing Without Borders Initiative, and his team. These powerful batteries are considered to be one of the optimum power sources for cochlear implants. The presentation of these hearing aid batteries to the initiative continues a longstanding tradition of charitable donations from VARTA Microbattery as part of its social responsibility mission.
