ACIAllianceLogo 9.51.38 AMThe American Cochlear Implant Alliance (ACI) has published the Proceedings of the First Annual Symposium of the American Cochlear Implant Alliance and it is now available online.

The Proceedings are intended to be a general resource for anyone in hearing  health care, ranging from clinicians, to CI users, and parents of children with hearing loss. “These are emerging issues in cochlear implantation including cochlear implants in very young children, single-sided deafness, residual hearing, children with multiple needs, telehealth, and cochlear implants in older adults,” wrote ACI Alliance Executive Director Donna Sorkin to The Hearing Review.  Sorkin says the Proceedings were published previously in the British peer-reviewed journal Cochlear Implants International and is available open access “to help us increase public understanding of the range of opportunity provided by this extraordinary intervention.”

The Hearing Review reported last week that the ACI Alliance is teaming up with Vanderbilt University on December 11-13, 2014, to hold the 14th Symposium on Cochlear Implants in Children at the Omni Nashville Hotel.
