Eden Prairie, Minn — Earlier in October, Williams Sound, a global designer and manufacturer of wireless listening technology, sponsored and participated in the first Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) Walk4Hearing in the Minneapolis area, a hub for the hearing loss industry.

Paul Ingebrigtsen, president and CEO of Williams Sound says, "Williams Sound was pleased to sponsor the first Walk4Hearing in the Twin Cities to help raise awareness about hearing loss, as well as to support the HLAA in their educational efforts. It was a great opportunity for our company and our employees to show their support for our customers. And it was a perfect day for a 5K, a crisp and clear fall morning in Minnesota. We urge everyone to join in the fun next year!"

HLAA launched the Walk4Hearing in 2006, a nationwide walk in several cities to increase awareness among the general public about hearing loss.

The organization’s ongoing goals are to have hearing loss recognized as a health issue, to minimize the stigma associated with wearing hearing aids, cochlear implants, and assistive technology; to raise funds to expand services and programs for people with hearing loss and their families; and to empower the HLAA state organizations and chapters to do more local outreach.
