The British Irish Hearing Instrument Manufacturers Association (BIHIMA) will be holding its inaugural conference at Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Birmingham, on the theme of ‘The Future of Hearing Technology,’ May 11-12, 2018, BIHIMA announced.
The aim of this new conference is many-fold. Firstly, through the planned keynote address, the association hopes attendees will better understand how future technology will impact on all of our lives. BIHIMA members—reportedly the United Kingdom’s largest hearing aid manufacturers—will talk about and feature the latest hearing technology and how that technology will impact on the wellbeing of those suffering hearing loss. Further, the conference’s mission is to discuss and debate ideas that will enable members to reach more people in need of hearing solutions.
BIHIMA is also delighted to be working in collaboration with the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists (BSHAA), who will be delivering an educational speaker and workshop program, providing continuing professional development and networking opportunities. In addition, BSHAA will be holding its annual general meeting at the event.
Over the past year, BIHIMA has worked hard to communicate and promote key topics that aim to improve the lives of people with hearing difficulties.
According to BIHIMA, the technology pioneered by the group’s members is changing at a rapid pace and shifting the way the whole of society thinks about optimizing its hearing. This event is designed as an opportunity for members to share their insights and, importantly, through the workshop program, give members a say in the future of the sector.
Tickets for the conference will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis and will be limited in number. In the first instance you can sign up to BIHIMA’s database here to be alerted when tickets become available. Tickets will be available to purchase in January at www.bihima.com.
BIHIMA looks forward to welcoming attendees to Edgbaston in Birmingham in May.
