The 14th International Conference on Cochlear Implants and Other Implantable Technologies (CI2016) has been scheduled for May 11-14, 2016, in Toronto, ON, Canada. A premier international cochlear implant meeting, CI2016 will feature speakers and international podium and poster sessions that cover research on cochlear implants and other implantable technologies across the age continuum.

The CI2016 International Conference is co-organized by the American Cochlear Implant Alliance (ACI Alliance) and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre at the University of Toronto. The Scientific Program Committee is co-chaired by Julian Nedzelski, MD, and Joseph Chen, MD, of the University of Toronto’s Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

The three-day cochlear implant conference brings together over 1,500 physicians, audiologists, speech pathologists, educators, hearing scientists, and members of industries from around the world. The conference provides attendees with networking opportunities with colleagues and industry, including a Welcome Reception and Poster Viewing on Thursday, May 12.

The conference also includes opportunities for interaction with non-profit and for-profit companies in the field of hearing loss through a Technical Exhibition, which showcases technology beyond the cochlear implant, and through breakfast satellite symposia hosted by Platinum Exhibitors, cochlear implant manufacturers Advanced Bionics, MED-EL, and Cochlear.

Key topics to be addressed during the conference include cochlear implants and regenerative biology, insights from patients with single-sided deafness, adult rehabilitation strategies and outcomes,  and music perception, among others.
