Oticon Inc sponsored Douglas L. Beck, AuD, director of Academic Sciences, as the guest speaker for the professional seminar, “Prioritizing Human Perception and Cognition in the New Generation of Hearing Solutions.” Dr Beck’s presentation was titled “Paradigm Shifts in Audiology: 2017.”

Doug Beck, AuD, was the honorary speaker at an audiology seminar in Hong Kong.

The 3-hour seminar was sponsored locally by Otic Hearing & Speech Centre and was held in the City View Hotel in Hong Kong on January 6, 2017. Over 100 audiology graduate students, audiologists, professors and physicians attended from across Hong Kong, China, and Asia.

Dr Beck is director of Academic Sciences at Oticon Inc in Somerset, NJ, and has served as editor in chief at AudiologyOnline and web content editor for the American Academy of Audiology (AAA). He is an adjunct professor of audiology at Lamar University, and adjunct clinical professor of communication disorders and sciences at State University of New York, Buffalo. He also serves as senior editor of clinical research for The Hearing Review’s “Inside the Research” column.
