GN Hearing, a hearing aid technology company with North American headquarters in Bloomington, Minn, announced it has been named a 2019 Manufacturer of the Year (large company category) by the Minnesota-based Manufacturers Alliance.  Awards will be presented at a ceremony on Wednesday, April 24, at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center, Minn.

“Hearing loss is a major health issue in this country, and around the world,” said Jesper Thaysen, vice president of operations for GN Hearing in North America.  “This award validates our everyday effort to make the best hearing aids possible, allowing people to hear more, do more, and be more.”

The company was specifically recognized for a commitment to continuous improvement efforts and employee training. In 2015, GN Hearing joined with Normandale Community College to implement a three-year Minnesota Job Skills Partnership training grant. To date, more than 500 employees have reportedly been trained though the Normandale curriculum, and more than 1,100 company improvements have been implemented.

The 2019 Manufacturer of the Year award was open to manufacturers with operations in Minnesota, western Wisconsin, and northern Iowa trade areas, recognizing companies committed to continuous improvement and sharing best practices within the manufacturing community.
