The British Irish Hearing Instrument Manufacturers Association (BIHIMA) announced that its Conference scheduled for May 14-15, 2020, has been canceled. Please see below for the letter sent out by BIHIMA Chairman Paul Surridge to its members.

It is with a heavy heart that the BIHIMA board has taken the decision to cancel the upcoming conference, scheduled to take place on May 14-15, 2020 at Edgbaston Cricket Ground.

We are extremely sad and disappointed, but are united in our confidence that this is absolutely the right course of action to prevent the spread of coronavirus and to comply with government instructions. It is an extremely difficult time for individuals, households, and businesses, as well as the entire hearing care industry, and our efforts must be focused on maintaining health and livelihoods.

It is the board’s hope to bring the sector together again, in person, in the not-too-distant future, but in the meantime we will continue to support the industry online and will be working with all our partners and stakeholders as we aim to remain united and resilient in the face of this unprecedented situation.

We want to take this opportunity to encourage all our contacts and associates to stay safe, to follow government and company advice, and to focus on the brighter and stronger future that undoubtedly awaits our industry.

Yours,

Paul Surridge

BIHIMA Chairman
