WS Audiology announced that it has been added to a group of companies that are “demonstrating the highest level of ambition on climate and paving the way to a net-zero future.”

The companies all commit to the Science-Based Targets initiative, or SBTi, according to the announcement. SBTi is a partnership between Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF).

By joining this group of companies WS Audiology has committed to set climate targets in line with limiting the global temperature rise to 1.5°C (34.7°F) . WS Audiology has the ambition to achieve 100% renewable electricity directly consumed by the Company and to be carbon neutral in its own operations by 2025.

Chaojun Li, WSA’s global head of sustainability, said: “We believe that committing to SBTi is the right thing to do and allows us to motivate and inspire other business partners to follow our example.”

WS Audiology is reportedly “the first hearing aid company” to join this global initiative.
