Starkey® Canada, a division of Starkey Hearing Technologies—an Eden Prarie, Minn-based hearing technology company—will open its brand-new, relocated, and redesigned Canadian headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario on Dec. 11, Starkey announced. The building, known as the Starkey Market Development Centre (MDC), will be home to 65 staff members, an in-house hearing clinic, and an innovation center for customers, scientists, researchers, press, visitors, and other guests.

The MDC will offer Starkey Hearing Technologies’ latest, most advanced iQ hearing aid line based on the company’s research in virtual reality, advanced neuroscience, and signal processing, as well as other hearing technologies and hearing health services. The new customer-centric facility will also provide focused areas for customer meetings, education, training, collaboration, sales, service, and support, according to Starkey.

Designed by Perkins+Will with a fresh new look to represent the Starkey brand and global values, the building is said to be environmentally friendly and carbon footprint-conscious. Perkins+Will utilized sustainable design strategies including abundant daylight to minimize energy usage and support wellness, and low VOC paints and other products to improve indoor air quality, according to the announcement.

“The Starkey MDC is a flexible, dynamic environment that allows us to present products and services in a way that will enhance day-to-day interactions with our customers,” said Jason Toone, Starkey Canada manager of national sales. “By reflecting the talent and abilities of our team, the MDC supports Starkey’s mission of putting innovation into action every day.”
