Tomi Thibodeaux Browne, AuD
The Salus University Alumni Association, Elkins Park, Pa, has announced its 2015 awards, and two of the three award recipients this year are audiologists who have largely contributed to the profession. The alumni association presents its annual and special recognition awards to notable alumni and friends of Salus University. The Alumni Association Awards will be presented at the celebration and awards dinner taking place during Alumni Weekend, May 2-3, 2015.
For 2015, Tomi Thibodeaux Browne, AuD ’04, has been named the Salus University Audiology Alumna of the Year, according to the announcement from Salus University. This award is presented to an alumnus who has made constructive contributions to the profession and the Salus University Osborne College of Audiology. Browne is a humanitarian and activist. She is also the founder of HEARt of the Village, a non-profit organization which works with HIV+ children and those orphaned by AIDS, and raises awareness of the connection between poverty and disease.
Judith A. Creuz, CCC-A
Salus University reports that Judith A. Creuz, AuD, CCC-A, has received its Alumni Association’s Special Recognition Award. This award is a special recognition of an individual’s contributions to Salus University, their profession or the community, and is given only when merited. Creuz, a 2006 Salus University graduate, is currently a clinic coordinator and professor of communication sciences and disorders at Penn State University. She has experience as a clinical audiologist for otolaryngology practices, an itinerant speech therapist for preschool through 12th grade, and an on-call audiologist for Rutgers University’s audiology clinic.
An additional presentation was held for Browne and Creuz at the Osborne College of Audiology’s Open House at AudiologyNOW! on March 25, 2015.
