Chattanooga, Tenn — Clarity, a division of Plantronics (NYSE: PLT), introduced its new D703™ amplified cordless telephone, designed specifically for people with hearing loss, low vision, and mobility challenges.

Available exclusively at RadioShack, the Clarity D703 cordless big button phone amplifies incoming sound up to 35dB, or 12 times louder than standard home phones, through the patented ClarityPower™ technology, while reportedly removing unwanted and distracting noises.

Carsten Trads, president of Clarity, said in the press announcement, "We have been designing products for seniors for 40 years and understand the unique challenges people encounter as they age. The D703 provides several options to meet these core needs of our customers, and we’re excited RadioShack is making it available across the US."

The D703 is designed to be an easy-to-use cordless phone with minimal features for seniors with mild-to-moderate hearing loss as well as arthritis and other common age related challenges. With DECT 6.0 technology, the phone provides interference-free communication, according to the company, and includes four adjustable tone settings to give users a customized listening experience that is hearing aid compatible.

Features also include a built-in speakerphone and a large, easy-to-read Caller ID display.

In addition, the D703 supports up to five additional handsets, which can be located anywhere in the home where there is a power outlet. The option of having more handsets is helpful for seniors who struggle with mobility challenges and cannot quickly move to another room when the phone rings.
