The new HearPlugz-DF multifunctional dual-filtered hearing protectors from EAR Inc, Boulder, Colo, help people hear speech better in noise or loud sound, and can be hooked up to radio communications, says the company.
According to military, law enforcement, sportsmen, and and industrial groups, many standard hearing protectors go unused because they minimize one’s ability to hear critical sounds needed for communications and environmental awareness, says EAR Inc. In response to the concerns, the company now provides the technology, with the breathable, moisture-resistant, dual acoustical filters, which help to improve sound quality when the ear is overloaded with excess noise (continuous or impact), according to the company.
Dual filters provide users with a choice of two levels of noise reduction. Musicians may appreciate HearPlugz-DF’s acoustical response, the company says. They are available in a choice of colors, three sizes, and with a removable cord. The exterior filter can be removed if less attenuation is desired, or to connect radio communications.
Users can have the generic (non-custom) style upgraded to a custom model by returning the filters with a set of ear impressions to EAR Inc or one of its authorized providers, says the company.
