Starkey announced that Chief Audiology Officer and Executive Vice President of Marketing Sara Burdak, AuD, has been named the Silver Globee Winner for the Excellence in Industry Woman of the Year awards in the Manufacturing category. Women World Awards recognizes women in business and professions from all over the world and encompasses “the world’s best in leadership, innovation, organizational performance, new products and services, and milestones from every major industry in the world.”

Burdak joined Starkey as an audiologist on the hearing research and technology team in 1999. For nearly two decades, she has worked to bring impactful programs to Starkey’s global customer base. She is responsible for developing and aligning Starkey’s global audiology strategy as it relates to education and training programs, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and customer and industry relations. The American Academy of Audiology (AAA) honored Burdak as a Fellow and a 2020 Academy Scholar for excellence and dedication to the profession. In 2021, she gave the opening remarks at the Student Academy of Audiology Conference.
