The American Cochlear Implant Alliance (ACI Alliance) announced it will award Karl White, PhD, with the Lifetime Achievement Award for Service to Families and Professionals.

WHEN: At the Opening Session of CI2019 Pediatric on Thursday, July 11 at 8:40 a.m.

WHERE: The Diplomat, Hollywood, Florida 

WHY: Dr White is a Professor of Psychology at Utah State University and the founding Director of the National Center for Hearing Assessment and Management (NCHAM). For the past 40 years, he has devoted his professional career to conducting research and providing training globally about issues and evidence related to implementing and improving the efficacy of Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) programs for children who are deaf and hard of hearing.

Dr White’s expertise has extended to the design and implementation of national legislation and programs across the US. He has encouraged initiatives that aim to provide families with comprehensive and unbiased information about options and the wide-ranging ways that children may develop language. He has influenced our thinking globally about what people with hearing loss can achieve by serving as an expert for public television, TED talks, and numerous media sources. Dr White is an undisputed proponent for families of children who are deaf and hard of hearing and the professionals who serve them.
