The Academy of Rehabilitative Audiology (ARA) is hosting its next Institute September 9-11, 2012 in Providence, RI. The program will address various aspects of audiologic rehabilitation, and Louise Hickson will present the keynote address.

Other presenters currently on the program include: Harvey Abrams, Theresa Chisolm, Linda Thibodeau, Jill Preminger, and Gaby Saunders.

In addition to the presenters, ARA will announce the winner of the Herbert J. Oyer Student Research Award for 2012. ARA has long supported new investigators, and the organization says that this award is essential to encourage outstanding research in the area of audiologic rehabilitation.

The student investigator selected to receive the award will present their research at the ARA Institute and submit the work for publication in the Journal of the Academy of Rehabilitative Audiology.

The award recipient will receive registration to the 2012 ARA Institute in Providence, 1-year free membership in ARA, and a financial award of $1000. More information about the award is available at www.audrehab.org/oyer
