Los Angeles — The House Research Institute will present “Hear the Experts” in New York in mid-May, 2012. Hosted by New York Times best-selling author Lee Woodruff, the evening is an interactive event for adults that will discuss common hearing health concerns.

Designed for audience participation, participants and panel members will discuss common misconceptions about hearing loss, treatment options, information about the realistic abilities of today’s hearing health technologies, and future technologies.

Panelists for the Hear the Experts forum include clinical otologist and House Research Institute researcher Joni K. Doherty, MD, PhD, FACS; the institute’s EVP of Research Neil Segil, PhD; and New York Eye and Ear Infirmary audiologist Elizabeth L. Davis, MA/CCC-A.

The program will not just be a series of speeches and a Q&A. Instead, the audience will be given voting equipment that will be used to quiz their knowledge on each question posed by the moderator before the experts shed light on the correct answers.

The evening will conclude with a valuable prize presented on stage to the audience member who answered the most questions correctly, followed by a 15-minute audience Q&A.

To register for the event, visit http://hearingNY.houseresearch.org. The event is free and will be presented at New York’s Directors Guild of America theater at 110 West 57th Street on May 15, 2012, from 7:30 pm until 9:00 pm.
