Steve Barlow, CEO of Avada Audiology and Hearing Care Centers, Louisville, Ky, operating subsidiary of Hearing Healthcare Management Inc, has been selected as a finalist for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year for South Central Ohio and Kentucky, the company reports.
Barlow is part of a group of entrepreneurs chosen by an independent judging panel comprising regional business, academic, and community leaders, according to the company. The winners will be announced at a gala event on June 24 at the Duke Energy Center in Cincinnati.
Regional award winners will be eligible for consideration for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2009 national awards. The awards are the culminating event of the Ernst & Young Strategic Growth Forum, a national gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies, says the company. The program has expanded to recognize business leaders in more than 135 cities in 50 countries worldwide. Awards are given to entrepreneurs who demonstrate extraordinary success in the areas of innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities, says the company.
Since Avada’s official formation as a company in 2000, its founders have turned it into a company with more than 280 facilities in 22 states staffed by hundreds of employees.
