Amplifon, with headquarters in Milan, Italy, and more than 20 company locations worldwide, has announced the sale of its Amplifon Biomedica business unit in Milan to GN Otometrics, the diagnostic division of GN ReSound. The Amplifon Biomedica unit provides biomedical equipment distribution, repairs, and customer care in Italy. According to Amplifon’s announcement, the company will concentrate on its core business while the Biomedica unit will continue providing its expertise and services as part of GN Otometric’s Italian division.
“Our group intends to focus more and more on our core business, providing the best technologies and finest professionalism to those in need of hearing support in order to rediscover all the joy and fullness of living,” said Franco Moscetti, CEO of Amplifon. “We are, therefore, happy to transfer our biomedical business to a top tier international company that will know how to make the most of the expertise and quality service that we have always offered the medical community.”
Anders Hedegaard, CEO of GN ReSound, indicated that the acquisition of the Biomedica unit will allow the Italian division of GN Otometrics to offer comprehensive hearing healthcare solutions to customers in Italy as the division continues to develop and grow.
