Jason T. Orsik has been named regional manager of the company’s South Central region. He has worked in sales in the health care industry for six years and will be located in suburban Dallas.

Mikael Worning has been named president of the company’s U.S. operations where he will oversee its management. He has extensive experience in management, operations, sales and marketing and business development.

Peer Lauritsen has been named executive vice president joining Worning in the management of the U.S. company.

Other management changes at Oticon, Inc., include promotions for four company directors including: Peter Mark to vice president of communications and marketing; Tom Falvey to vice president of operations; Jim Kothe to vice president of sales; and Gene Cancellieri to vice president of finance. Maureen Alicino was named director of human resources.


Gennum Corp.
The company announces that H. Douglas Barber will step down as president and chief executive officer and will retire on July 31, 2000. He will continue to serve the company as a director.

Gennum’s executive vice president and chief operating officer, Ian L. McWalter, has been appointed president and CEO. McWalter has been with the company since 1991, first as vice president of research and development and subsequently as vice president of manufacturing.

H. Patrick Thode will be stepping down as chairman of the board and will continue to serve the company as a director.

Director Pierre Choquette will be chairman of the board. He is currently president and CEO of Methanex Corp.

Farah Vertman has been promoted to sales representative. She received her BS in communicative disorders from the Univ. of Central Florida where she had an active role in the university’s Hearing Assn. and National Student Speech Language organizations. Vertman also has experience with sign language and augmentative communication devices.

Colleen Hicks has been appointed as Northeastern regional manager. She has a BS in communication disorders and a master’s degree in education from the College of St. Rose, Albany, NY, and an MA in audiology from the Univ. of Rhode Island. Hicks has extensive audiology experience and has taught at both the K-12 and collegiate levels. She is also working as a trainer for the company’s ImpaCt Dynamic Speech Re-Coding Training Workshops.


Audiology Online
Robert P. Wolf has been appointed president and CEO. He has 12 years of senior level management experience in the hearing health care industry. Aimee LaCalle, founder of Audiology Online, stated, “Rob is committed to the news and information exchange format of the company and he will work closely with the industry and professional organizations to ensure the needs of all participants are met.”

The association has announced the promotion of Cindy J. Helms to the position of director of communications and marketing. Helms is managing editor and director of advertising for The Hearing Professional, with responsibility for magazine editorial and advertising sales. She also manages the association’s website, develops and directs the marketing campaign for the annual convention and oversees internal and external communications programs. Helms also participates in the planning and production of the association’s annual convention, the development of public awareness campaigns and assists the IHS executive director with administrative projects.
