Aspire Business Development Workshop

Nearly 200 hearing care professionals gathered in Florida for Sivantos’ annual Aspire Business Development Workshop.

Sivantos Inc, formerly known as Siemens, hosted its fourth annual Aspire Business Development Workshop event in January 2015 in Orlando, Florida. Called “Navigating the Future,” the event drew nearly 200 hearing care professionals, who gathered to participate in 4 days of sessions intended to teach them more about the evolving insurance landscape, cutting-edge hearing aid technology, and new service delivery options.

In line with the conference theme, special guest speakers offered practical guidance on topics affecting hearing care professionals today. Sivantos reports that Matt Stevens, JD, of The Advisory Board Company spoke about “the coming retail revolution.” Paul Pessis, AuD, a practice owner and university instructor, informed workshop participants about new Medicare and insurance regulations, as well as best coding practices. Industry updates and an interactive marketing workshop were also provided.

“Every year the Aspire Annual Workshop just keeps getting better,” said Ron Gleitman, PhD, vice president of business development and head of Aspire. “It’s the one time each year where all our valuable Aspire members gather to network, earn CEUs, and learn about the things that matter most to their business. It’s no wonder the Aspire Rewards Program continues to be the leading manufacturer loyalty program in the US.”

According to the Sivantos announcement, the event also featured sessions designed to help professionals maximize patient relationships. New York Times best-selling author Sally Hogshead provided advanced communication techniques to help hearing professionals better communicate with and counsel patients. H. Gustav Mueller, PhD, educated guests on how to optimize wearer satisfaction. Sivantos Educational Specialist Jennifer Gehlen, AuD, spoke about the practical benefits of Siemens binax hearing aids.

The Aspire Rewards Program is the customer loyalty program for Sivantos Inc. The company reports that beyond benefits such as extended hearing aid warranties, and complimentary batteries and receivers, Aspire members also receive invitations to annual workshops and lectures on business development and industry trends where they can earn CEUs. One workshop participant at the recent event reported that, while many manufacturers tout their product lines and don’t put enough emphasis on the growth of individual hearing health practices, Sivantos seems to be concerned about the dispenser as well.
