Oticon Inc announced the appointment of Thomas Lawrence to the company’s newly created national sales manager position. According to Oticon, Lawrence will be responsible for developing sales strategies, driving improvements, and implementing best practices to deliver quality support and services to Oticon’s professional partners. He will be based in Oticon’s US headquarters in Somerset, NJ.
Lawrence joins Oticon with more than 15 years of experience in sales, marketing and business development in the medical device and healthcare arena. He has held progressively responsible positions with major global companies, Oticon reports, including positions with Stryker and DaVita, where he earned a reputation for building sales teams that understand and meet customer needs in dynamic markets.
“There is no doubt that Tom will be a valuable addition to the Oticon team as we go forward in a competitive business environment,” said Vice President of Sales Jim Kothe. “As a customer-centric leader, Tom will work to understand the challenges our business partners are facing in an ever-changing healthcare arena so that we can better meet their needs and help continue their success into the future.”
Lawrence holds a bachelor’s degree in health administration from the University of Scranton and is currently completing a master’s of business administration in business/international business.
Oticon Inc also announced that Kelly Cedor, AuD, CCC-A, has been promoted to the northeast regional manager position. In her new role, Cedor will be responsible for sales, education, and support to hearing healthcare professionals throughout the northeast. Cedor has more than 20 years of experience in audiology and meeting the needs of hearing care professionals to help them grow their practices, according to Oticon. Since 2007, Cedor had been the account manager for Maine, New Hampshire, Eastern Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.
Cedor steps into the position held by Ron Gardrel, MS, who retired after 27 years of service to Oticon. An audiologist with more than 40 years’ experience, Gardrel was a valued member of the account management team, recognized for his willingness to share his extensive knowledge and experience in building successful partnerships with hearing care professionals.
“Ron always knew how best to respond to customer needs and identify opportunities that helped them to grow their practices,” said Oticon President Peer Lauritsen. “In his tenure with Oticon, he consistently demonstrated a remarkable ability to build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships. We thank Ron for his service to Oticon and wish him the very best in his retirement.”
