Mike Orscheln, president and CEO

Sonova Holding AG, Stäfa, Switzerland, has named Mike Orscheln as president and CEO of Phonak US. Former president and CEO Cathy Jones has been named executive director of corporate relations for Phonak US.

Orscheln joined Phonak as COO in October 2007. He has spent more than 25 years in various management, sales, and marketing functions in the health care industry, most recently with Cardinal Health Inc, where he was senior VP and general manager for the $500 million ambulatory care division.

Phonak US, headquartered in Warrenville, Ill, is a subsidiary of Sonova.

In her new role, Jones will manage the Hear the World Foundation in the United States, overseeing fundraising and public relations efforts and continuing to play a key role in representing Phonak US at customer and industry events. 

“This new role allows me to grow in the next phase of my career, and I really look forward to expanding awareness of the Hear the World Foundation throughout the United States,” Jones says.

Jones joined Phonak in 1996 as director of education and customer services. In 2002, she was promoted to president and CEO. Under her leadership, Phonak US grew significantly and became one of the leaders in the US hearing instrument market. Jones has played a significant role in setting industry standards throughout her career. She has been a long time board member of the Hearing Industries Association, and recently served as chairperson. Jones is president-elect of the Better Hearing Institute.

Both appointments were effective January 1.
