The Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) will present a course director workshop Nov. 2 at the Sheraton Gateway Suites O’Hare, Rosemont, Ill.

The workshop is a requirement for new course director candidates with applications approved by the CAOHC Screening Committee and course directors (CDs) certified or recertified in 2002 who have not yet recertified.

This workshop has been revised to meet the differing needs of new and recertifying course directors. Changes include greater opportunity for CDs to share real-life situations, engage in discussion on the responsibilities and limitations of the Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist in recordkeeping and regulations (OSHA, MSHA, FRA) and compensation issues.

The course director workshop is an opportunity to gain professional experience in the field of hearing conservation, and CAOHC is an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and American Academy of Audiology (AAA) approved provider offering .7 continuing education credits.

The Course Director Workshop will also be conducted Feb. 19, 2008 in Portland, Ore.

Application and registration forms are required and available at www.caohc.org.
