Nearly 700 audiologists and office staff representing 270 independent hearing care and ENT practices across the United States and Canada convened in Las Vegas on September 20-22 for 3 days of hands-on learning, a robust exchange of experiences and ideas, and discussions about the future of the industry at Audigy’s biennial Team Summit.

The event, hosted by Audigy Founder and CEO Brandon Dawson and the Audigy executive team at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, featured over 40 workshops and keynote presentations designed to empower practice owners and their teams in navigating today’s industry challenges, seizing tomorrow’s opportunities, delivering the highest-quality patient care, and achieving transformational growth.

“We pulled out all the stops to top our previous Team Summit events — and that’s hard to do,” said Dawson. “We made it happen with an exciting lineup of keynote speakers and topical sessions that tap into the issues on providers’, patients’, and business owners’ minds today — from billing and coding, team performance, and recent tax reform to the patient experience, cybercrime, the latest hearing technology, and more.”

According to Audigy, in keeping with this year’s theme, “Impact: Creating a Movement,” the summit’s keynote speakers included motivational speakers such as author, award-winning columnist, and advisor Kindra Hall; international thought leader, business advisor, and author Peter Sheahan; and international sales-management expert Phil M. Jones, author of the book Exactly What to Say.

“This is all about delivering current, practical, expert insight that practice owners, providers, and administrative staff can use right now for results they never thought possible,” added Dawson. “Whether technological innovations, regulations, patient expectations, insurance, marketing, or approaches to care, the industry is evolving every day, and it’s our aim to help audiologists stay atop these issues and continue championing advances in the private hearing care space.”

As it traditionally does, the Summit ended with a formal gala and award ceremony to honor Audigy members’ and their teams’ accomplishments in patient care. With the recent passing of founding Audigy member Rich Burba, Dawson and the rest of the Audigy executive leadership team created a brand-new award to honor its most accomplished members, the Rich Burba Legacy Award. The inaugural award was presented to Darla and Brad Baldwin, owners of Carolina Hearing Group, Inc.

“Rich and his wife, Linda, were some of Audigy’s earliest supporters,” said Dawson. “They exemplified so many of the values that lead to our success as a group. Brad and Darla, probably more than anyone else, remind me so much of the Burbas in the way they give everything they have to treat their patients and their team with the respect that they deserve. I’m exceptionally proud of everything they have accomplished.”

Audigy’s 2018 Team Summit also featured technology trainings from their partners at ReSound, Widex, and Signia, as well as appearances by Sycle office management software, Wells Fargo, Jones & Roth tax advisory firm, and Otometrics. The event included special program tracks for emerging audiology students and practice owners hoping to learn more about Audigy solutions for private audiology and ENT group practices.
