Research Identifies Brain Activity Associated with Sensory Experiences

If a baby was not capable of processing movement, or movement is not associated with normal activity inside the brain (such might be the case in a baby with cerebral palsy), clinicians could then be able to induce that activity by learning an association with sound, and using the sound simulation to try and amplify and rehabilitate their movement.

The Wellbeing and Health for people with Dementia (WHELD) program trained care home staff to increase social interaction from two minutes a day to 10, combined with a program of personalized care. It involves simple measures such as talking to residents about their interests and involving them in decisions around their care.
