UMSOM Launches Portal to Access Hearing Studies

The tool enables easy access to genetic and other molecular data from hundreds of technical research studies involving hearing function and the ear. The research portal called gene Expression Analysis Resource (gEAR) was unveiled in a study last month in “Nature Methods.”

The 25th annual International Conference on Management of the Tinnitus & Hyperacusis Patient will be held June 15-16 by the University of Iowa in Iowa City. Organized each year by Rich Tyler, PhD, the conference is designed to review current evaluation and management strategies for the treatment of tinnitus and hyperacusis, and otologists, audiologists, hearing aid specialists, psychologists, and all health care professionals who provide clinical services for patients are invited to attend.
